Uttarakhand – 3 Stunning destinations

Stunning destinations in Uttarakhand for tourist, travelers & trekkers
Uttarakhand is lovely … for tourist, traveler or trekker.
Being Tourist is hard. Going as a Traveler is harder. Enjoying as a Trekker is the hardest.
Three Uttarakhand destinations below will help you identify and relate to your ‘hard’ choice.
So, choose your ‘hard-boots’ wisely.
1. Nainital – Tourists
Nainital is a perfect tourist destination over a long weekend. It is around 300 km from Delhi and at an elevation of around 2000 m elevation from sea level. It usually takes around 8 hrs to reach Nainital by road. There are two entry points into Nainital – via Kaladhungi, which makes an entry towards the Mallital side, and also via Kathgodam, which makes an entry towards the Tallital side.
The Numero uno attraction of Nainital is Naini Lake, around which the life of this town revolves. Also, there are many attractions and activities in Nainital which are perfect for tourists –
a) Boating in Naini Lake is a must, so get going, folks!
b) Ropeway to Snow View Point… nice view from the top, therefore, go for it.
c) Naina Devi temple dedicated to Devi Sati, a must place for devotees, but an amazing place nevertheless
d) Stroll along Mall road and Thandi Sadak… my personal favorite, a place you won’t regret. Therefore, a MUST SEE…
e) Horse ride to Tiffin top… can avoid, in other words… skippable
f) Eco cave Garden is a must for kids, so if you have kids… they will have lots of fun here.
g) Naina Peak is around 10 km from Mall road, an uphill drive. So, if you love driving and good view, it is a place you can’t miss.
h) Nainital zoo… boring. In other words, you can skip it.
i) Rajbhavan… it was under construction when we visited. So, can go if you have extra time.

2. Chakrata , Uttarakhand – Travelers
Chakrata is a quaint and unexplored destination for travelers who want to relax in the lap of nature. This magical place has a waterfall, green meadows, caves, plateau, valley view, dense jungle, and deep gorges. So, it is not a place for touristy activities, but a destination when ‘nothing’ is on the to-do list. It is about 320 km from Delhi and at an elevation of 2100 m from sea level. Because of this, winters are extremely cold and summers have salubrious weather.
Few attractions of Chakrata are:
a) Tiger Falls… the main attraction of Chakrata is amazing and has lesser footfall than Kempty falls of Mussoorie
b) Chilmiri Neck… wow view, and perfect for off-roading, so bring your off-roader here for lots of fun.
c) Deoban… jungle views and abode to Vyas Shikhar, so it has a lot of mythological importance.
d) Budher caves… cold, damp, and dark caves… so, it is a visual delight for adventurers, about 2.5 km uphill trek from the base.
e) Kanasar, green meadows… has a tree with 6.35 m circumference

3. Munsiyari , Uttarakhand – Trekkers
Munsiyari offers its visitors an uninterrupted view of snow-capped scintillating Panchchuli mountains. It is the base point for all major glacier treks in this region… viz. Milam glacier, Namik glacier and Ralam glacier. There are many small treks around Munsiyari town too, so they can also be done within a day.
Few attractions within Munsiyari are:
a) Nanda Devi Temple has an amazing view of Panchchuli peaks
b) Birthi Falls looks beautiful
c) Thamri kund trek – 2 km
d) Khaliya top trek – 4 km
